Download the registration form here, print it, fill it out and return it to the address on the form (or on the Contact Us page) along with a cheque for $25 made payable to the Manitoba Aviation Tour, that's all there is to it! Your registration package will follow by mail. All packages are numbered with the numbers assigned in the order that registrations are received.
Your first task is to fill out the Tour Participant Page, page 3 in the Passport. Instructions for completing the Tour follow on page 4, they're also on The Tour page of this site. Instructions for completing the Flight Data and Tourism Data pages follow on page 5. Pages 8 to 39 provide space to record the required visits to the 8 Manitoba Tourism Regions, 4 pages for each. Pages 40 to 63 are for recording data about the other 6 visits to make up the 14 required visits. On pages 64, 65 & 66 there is space for recording basic information for 9 more Tour visits, for a total of 23 visits. Participants who want to record data for more than 23 visits (there will be a prize for the most Tour visits) will need to record the same basic data on their own pages. The photos used to document visits beyond the 14 required for completion can be stored in the pocket on the rear cover of the Passport.
The Summary in the middle of the Passport, pages 34 & 35, will be used by the participant to summarize all the data at the end of the Tour. This will allow Tour organizers to quickly gather data from all participants for awarding the prizes at the Final Celebration. It would be extremely time consuming for us to go through all the Passports to get that data; we hope you'll enjoy doing this in October as you reminisce about your Tour visits.
The Tour Decal is a peel and stick decal that can be attached wherever you prefer. We had initially considered a decal that would go inside a side window but the success of the 100th Anniversary of Flight and the Cross Canada Flight exterior decals changed our mind. Our decals are made of the same material which we are assured will stay on and yet come off easily at the end of the Tour. We did not get specific installation instructions but will post them here when we get them. I installed mine by throwing a tarp over the tail, putting a heater under the tarp, and then attaching the warm decal. It seemed to stick securely.
The Tour Name Tag has space to write your name on it; we hope people will wear them on their Tour visits, it should help raise the profile of the Tour outside the flying community. There was a printing glitch and four decals with numbers in the 60's were missing. Apologies to those participants, we made up four decals to replace them!
Once registered Touring can start any time! I'm sure many participants will want to visit a site for a Tour Event, any visit, any where can be documented. Have some fun!
